Well after a few weeks off I was back in shop making some dust. I just finished the mold and am moving onto making a radius dish jig next!

Brad...Nice work. Did you use a router and template?

BTW, if you hit "enter" after each photo upload, they'll line up vertically, rather than horizontally. You could still fix it by editing your post.

Carlton, thanks for the kind words and the advice on how to fix the picture layout. I did use a router and template. I first created a master template and then used and inlay template router bit to create both the inside and outside master templates. The inside template was for the bending form and the outside was for the mold. Worked great.Brad Way38974.9559837963

Very nice work! You may want to trim the edges and corners a bit to reduce the weight.... it works fine either way but its a suggestion.

I thought about cutting the mold smaller but thought I would wait until I used it first. This way when I cut it down I will have a better idea what will work best. Thanks for the feedback!

Very nice! How does it open?

I am new to this and no one told me it is supposed to open?!? Just kidding. At each end I cut a dato about 1" x 3/4" deep. I then screwed a hard maple strip with 4 screws in to the dato. I also used a couple steel rods drilled on the split to keep the mold aligned. All in all it seems to keep everything flat and aligned. Once I build my first I will have a better feel what is good or bad about the design but for now I am just excited to be moving the right direction!
